The NICU was not somewhere I ever expected to find myself nor did I even realize it would be possible for my baby to be born not know how to eat, so naïve I know. The NICU changed my perspective on a lot of things, helped me find empathy and understanding for others and even made me jealous of those who have a “normal birth” (if that actually exists).
